(Arlington, TX) —  April Luter, Director of Partnerships & Programs for the Arlington Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB), was the recipient of the “Best Step-on Guide,” award by the Texas Travel Counselors, professional Texas tourism experts, during their five-day Study Tour of the North Central Texas Region in September 2017. Arlington tied with Cleburne for the award.

The award is a result of Luter’s performance as a tour guide of Arlington during a statewide tour planned through the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDot). During the tour, one representative from each of the state’s 12 Texas Travel Information Centers was sent to “study” Texas’ many destinations in order to update the current master informative publication. The publication is used by all Travel Information Centers, Texas Travel Industry Assocation (TTIA) and AAA of Texas as study material for current and future Travel Counselors.  As this group made a stop in Arlington, Luter and ACVB Tourism Manager, Scott Poland, were responsible for coordinating their portion of the trip.

Luter accepted the award at the Texas Travel Counselors Conference in El Paso on April 19, 2018 during the Stars of Texas Award Luncheon.
