(Arlington, TX) — The Arlington Cultural Tourism Council (ACTC) announced their 2018 grant recipients.
The council is the result of the bureau’s ongoing strategy to support and grow cultural tourism in Arlington. The ACTC distributes grants annually to arts and cultural organizations and artists through a competitive grant allocation process for the encouragement, promotion, improvement and application of the arts to promote tourism and the convention and hotel industry.
“This year’s grant process was highly competitive,” said ACTC Chair Susan Gunn. “We had a lot of great entries, and we are excited to see the results from what was given.”
There are two types of grants awarded for a total of $500,000: The Arlington Cultural Tourism Grant for events in Arlington intended to increase visits by persons living outside of the city by way of historical, artistic, musical or heritage offerings. There is also The Downtown Arlington Cultural Arts Grant, which is a sustaining grant to organizations that are qualified non-profit, located in the Downtown Cultural Arts District and solely invested in Arlington, among other criteria.
A total of $250,000 was distributed to qualifying organizations for the Arlington Cultural Tourism Grants. The recipients include:
- Frame 4 Frame Festival
- Cut! Costume and Cinema at the Arlington Museum of Art
- The 2018 International Folk Art Market at Arlington
- Downtown Arlington Mural Event
- Levitt Pavilion Summer Concert
