TEXAS ARTISTS, FOOD AND BANDS SHOWCASED AT ARLINGTONS FIRST ‘ART ON THE GREENE’ FESTIVAL
Event co-sponsored by the Arlington Convention & Visitors Bureau

(ARLINGTON, TX)— Seventy-five artists from around the country are bringing their works of art to Richard Greene Linear Park in Arlington this weekend. The park will be jam-packed with delicious local food, fine art exhibitions, jazz, blues and classic rock performances from Friday, March 23rd through Sunday, March 25th. Friday’s opening starts at 3 p.m.

The event was created by artist Steve Moya, of Moya Art Events, to help bring awareness to Arlington’s growing cultural scene.

“As a professional artist exhibiting across the country,” said Moya, “I realized it’s time for Arlington to have its own fine arts festival.”

The event will showcase some of the country’s most talented artists in painting, jewelry, ceramics, photography, glass, mixed media, sculpture, wood and metal.

Soul-R&B-Funk band Mingo Fishtrap, the UTA Jazz Orchestra, Blues songstress Andrea Dawson, Nashville singer/songwriter Ray Tarantino and a slew of tribute acts channeling the tunes of Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Santana and Stevie Ray Vaughan will perform. Visit www.artonthegreene.com for times.

Food will include locally established and new restaurants including Grease Monkey Burgers and Old School Pizza & Suds. Maui Wowie Smoothies, Crepe Crazy and German Roasted nuts will also set up shop at the festival, among others.

“We are proud to support an art event that will bring visitors into Arlington,” said Jay Burress, President & CEO of the Arlington Convention & Visitors Bureau. “It’s great to spotlight events featuring Arlington’s cultural tourism side in addition to the more well-known entertainment we have.”
