About the Program

Geocaching is an outdoor sporting activity in which the participants use global positioning system (GPS) units to hide and seek containers, called geocaches or caches.
A series of eight geocaches have been placed in Arlington parks in celebration of Super Bowl XLV. The first 100 participants to complete all eight series will be mailed a commemorative pathtag.

Geocachers will need to register their finds on geocaching.com and e-mail the code letters that have been placed in each geocache to parksdepartment@arlingtontx.gov along with their name and address.

“This is a great way to attract visitors to Arlington,” said Jay Burress, President/CEO, Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau. “The Big Game will provide them the opportunity to get out and explore our parks though the outdoor adventure of geocaching.”

The Big Game is open to visitors and citizens of Arlington. For more information, visit geocaching.com and search Arlington Parks and Recreation.

Upcoming Event

On February 26, from 9am to noon, geocachers will be participating in a Cache In Trash Out (CITO) event.  This event will attract geocachers from around the DFW area to help clean up trash in Cravens Park and Fish Creek Linear Park. A total of three CITOs are scheduled for 2011.
